School: Vista Murrieta (Calif.) HS Drafted/Committed: Oklahoma
Age At Draft: 18.6
Neckar is a stocky righthander with a 6-foot-3, 215-pound frame and tons of strength in his lower half. He has big stuff but also carries some reliever risk thanks to an effortful delivery and below-average control. Neckar sits in the low 90s and has been up to 95 mph with a fastball that has lively cut-ride action. He has a pair of breaking balls that have shown swing-and-miss traits: a low-80s slider and a curveball a few ticks lighter that has a bit more depth. Neckar will also break out a mid-80s changeup, though he has traditionally relied on his fastball at a heavy clip. While Neckar doesn’t have much physical projection remaining, his present stuff is plenty good—especially if he can make strides in the strike-throwing department. He’s committed to Oklahoma but is talented enough to fit in the first 10 rounds of the draft.

Neckar was the youngest player on the team and one of only two 2025 players on the USA 18U National Team that won a gold medal at the U-18 World Cup Americas Qualifier in Mexico in November 2022. He has a strong, physically mature build for his age and has long been a hard thrower for his age, reaching 95 mph with good armside life from a compact arm stroke. Neckar shows feel to spin both his slider and curveball, along with an occasional mid-80s changeup, though he tends to lean heavily on his fastball. There’s potential for Neckar to be a starter in the big leagues, though he could end up a power reliever too.
