School: TNXL Academy, Ocoee, Fla. Drafted/Committed: Auburn
Age At Draft: 19.1
A Missouri native at TNXL Academy in Ocoee, Fla., Thompson is an athletic shortstop with traits to like at the plate. Listed at 6-foot-1, 170 pounds, Thompson is a lean righthanded hitter who gets his barrel into the hitting zone early with solid contact skills, but his lack of strength and bat speed limits his impact potential. He’s an aggressive hitter who likes to swing and does a nice job against fastballs, but needs more reps and contact ability facing secondaries. Thompson is a plus runner who should have a chance to stick at shortstop. He has enough arm strength for the left side of the infield, and has thrown a low-90s fastball on the mound. Thompson’s offensive upside is largely dependent on how much strength he’s able to add in the coming years. He’s committed to Auburn and will be 19 on draft day, making him an eligible sophomore in 2027 if he makes it to campus. -

Age At Draft: 19.1
A Missouri native at TNXL Academy in Ocoee, Fla., Thompson is an athletic shortstop with traits to like at the plate. He’s a plus runner with the arm strength that gives him a good chance to stick at a premium position at shortstop. Thompson gets his barrel into the hitting zone early, though his lack of strength and bat speed limits his damage and has led to up-and-down offensive performance, so getting stronger will be critical for his development and could lead to a move up the list if that happens.
