School: Corona (Calif.) HS Drafted/Committed: LSU
Age At Draft: 18.0
BA Grade: 55/Extreme
Ebel is one of the youngest players in the 2025 class and will still be 17 years old on draft day, but you wouldn’t know that from his size and the polish to his game. Ebel has a broad-shouldered frame to dream on at 6-foot-3, 190 pounds with tons of room to add more size and strength in the future. He’s an instinctual lefthanded hitter with a lengthy track record of performance, and the contact ability and batting eye to project an above-average hit tool. Ebel consistently sets up close to the plate and has a compact, efficient swing that gets into the hitting zone quickly and stays there for a long time, with impressive balance in his lower half that allows him to use the entire field fairly easily. Ebel is more of a line-drive hitter currently, but he has the physical projection to dream of at least average game power in the future, with on-base skills that should provide a decent offensive floor. Ebel is a below-average runner who might not have the speed to stick at a middle infield position, and on a loaded Corona High team he mostly played third base in deference to slick-fielding Billy Carlson at shortstop. Ebel does a good job slowing the game down and has solid hands and above-average arm strength, but his range and size point to a likely corner profile. He’s the son of Dodgers third base coach Dino Ebel and has grown up around the game. Ebel is committed to LSU but could be drafted in the first two rounds.

Ebel will be 17 on draft day, so while he’s one of the youngest players in the 2025 class, he’s one of the most polished hitters in the class. His father is Dodgers third base coach Dino Ebel, so the maturity of his game isn’t surprising, especially in the batter’s box. Ebel sets up close to the plate and takes a compact, efficient swing from the left side, turning the barrel into the hitting zone quickly and keeping it there for a long time with good balance throughout. Between his barrel accuracy and strike-zone judgment, Ebel makes frequent contact and gets on base at a high clip. He flashes occasional power now with the size and strength projection for more to come. Ebel is a below-average runner who could end up outgrowing shortstop and fit at third base, but he’s a fundamentally sound defender for his age with his actions, angles and ability to turn double plays with the necessary arm strength for the left side of the infield.
