Spencer Jones

A Nevada prep product, Jones spent two years at Mendocino (Calif.) JC, then became a stalwart in Washington's bullpen the last two seasons, making more than 30 appearances each year on regional clubs. He wore down under the workload, but the 6-foot-5, 195-pounder has solid stuff with a fastball that sits 89-91 and reaches 93 to go with a changeup that flashes plus. A high school shortstop, he's a solid athlete and good competitor who needs to improve his fringy slider.
