Spence is a steady, reliable shortstop who makes all of the routine plays at the position and provides a contact-oriented bat. He’s produced for two years in the SEC after transferring to Tennessee from Central Arizona JC, but is a career .338/.471/.459 hitter who has walked (66) more than he’s struck out (60) in his Tennessee career. Scouts do question the impact he’ll make at the next level, however. He’s old for the class and already 23 at the draft, so could be a solid senior sign.
