Vogt hit under .200 each of his first two seasons at UC Santa Barbara before breaking out this spring. He hit .317/.405/.541 while taking over as the Gauchos' starting center fielder and No. 3 hitter and led UCSB to the Big West Conference title. Vogt has an advanced sense of pitch recognition and pitch selection and feasts on fastballs. His power is is geared more for doubles than home runs, but he hits the ball hard and has a chance to grow into average power down the line. Vogt is an average runner with a quick first step in center field. He plays the position fearlessly and isn't afraid to lay out for a sinking liner or crash into the wall to run down a fly ball. He has an average, accurate arm. Vogt lacks huge tools, but his ability to hit velocity and play center field has teams interested late on the draft's second day or early on the third day.
