Hever Bueno

The early season buzz for Arizona State's opening Friday night starter came with reports that his fastball was touching 96, but Bueno's season turned to uncertainty after he came out in the sixth inning of his first start against Xavier with a muscle strain. While he earned the win on opening night, he didn't return to the mound until a brief appearance a month later before again being shut down. Bueno is now scheduled for Tommy John surgery. In addition to the mid-90s heater, Bueno also flashed an above-average changeup and a decent curveball. Bueno showed good stuff when healthy but struggled to repeat his delivery and had a lot of effort. While his repertoire will keep him on draft boards despite the surgery, Bueno's previous injury issues and projected relief role will likely keep him out of the first 10 rounds.
