He's a proven receiver of good pitching, with a strong left hand that helps him frame pitches effectively, stealing strikes for his pitchers. He's advanced at blocking balls in the dirt and has a quick transfer, helping his above-average arm strength play up. Mature and intelligent, he runs a pitching staff well, and he had his best offensive season, hitting .301/.378/.439.. Delay's bat remains light, but he's more competitive at the plate and is an asset as an organizational player behind the plate with leadership skills who could wind up a manager someday.
