Tinsley has a pure lefthanded swing with a line-drive approach that has helped him hit over .330 in all three seasons at Kansas. His offensive approach has helped him walk more than he's struck out in his two seasons as a regular. The 6-foot, 194-pounder is more athletic than your average catcher with average speed. His arm is average as well. Defensively, Tinsley needs to clean up his receiving and his footwork, but his deficiencies can be cleaned up with instruction and side work.
