A 6-foot-5, 230-pound senior first baseman, Brodt is all about the power, with a ton of strength in his bat. He led Santa Clara with 15 home runs this spring and had a three-homer game on February 17 against Boston College in a 20-9 win. Brodt does enough defensively to stick at first, but the pressure will be on the bat. It’s not extremely through the zone and he strikes out a lot, but if he gets timed up and puts the barrel on the ball, it will go a long way.
