Pavolony is a 6-foot-1, 195-pound catcher who can really catch and throw. Defensively scouts think he has all the tools necessary to get to the bigs, with a plus throwing arm and a chance to be an above-average defender behind the dish. The bat is the question mark with him, though. He’s a career .259/.378/.454 hitter who will show flashes of power at times, but scouts seem to think his swing has a ways to go.
