5 1410 Cleveland Indians Luke Malloy RHP Alamo Heights HS, San Antonio Texas
6 1411 Arizona Diamondbacks Casey Upperman RHP Yavapai (Ariz.) JC Ariz.
Righthander Casey Upperman can also run it up to 93 and has a good curveball. He has toned down his Hideki Okajima-esque delivery but is still a max-effort guy.
7 1412 New York Mets Sean O'Connor RHP Carroll HS, Southlake, Texas Texas
Dallas Baptist secured a commitment from another big righthander, Sean O'Connor. The 6-foot-5, 215-pounder isn't generating as much buzz as Noah Syndergaard, but he gets good sink on his low-90s fastball. O'Connor has a lot of effort in his low-three-quarters delivery and needs to refine his slurvy slider.

9 1414 San Diego Padres Kraig Kelly 3B Collinsville (Okla.) HS Okla.

15 1420 Chicago Cubs Clayton Crum RHP Klein HS, Spring, Texas Texas
The state has several injured pitchers whom teams could gamble on this year. That group includes: Houston righthander Jared Ray (shoulder) and Texas Tech lefthander Robbie Kilcrease (Tommy John surgery) at the college level; Howard righty Damien Magnifico (elbow), San Jacinto righty Tommy Collier (elbow) and lefty David Rollins (non-throwing shoulder), who ranked as three of Texas' top five juco pitchers coming into the season; and Klein High (Spring) righty Clayton Crum (Tommy John surgery). Crum, the No. 2 pitcher behind Matt Purke at Klein a year ago, wasn't 100 percent but came back to pitch in the playoffs and won four games to lead his team to the 5-A regional finals. An Ohio State recruit, Crum hit 94 mph with his fastball before blowing out his elbow.
16 1421 Tampa Bay Rays Hector Montes 1B Bonita Vista HS, Chula Vista, Calif. Calif.
17 1422 Seattle Mariners James Wood OF Trinity (Conn.) Conn.
18 1423 Detroit Tigers Chris Triplett SS Sandy Creek HS, Fayetteville, Ga. Ga.
Triplett's best attributes are his arm and speed, which both play average to a tick above. He figures to move to second, either in college first or as a pro.
19 1424 Atlanta Braves Frank LaFreniere RHP St. Petersburg (Fla.) JC Fla.
20 1425 Minnesota Twins Collin Reynolds RHP McLennan (Texas) JC Texas
21 1426 Texas Rangers Daniel Ward RHP Garfield Heights (Ohio) HS Ohio
22 1427 Florida Marlins Travis Huber RHP JC of Southern Idaho Idaho
Southern Idaho's top prospect is 6-foot-3 righthander Huber, a freshman with a power arm out of the bullpen. He sits 88-90 mph and touches 92 with a sharp slider.
23 1428 San Francisco Giants Ray Hanson RHP Cypress (Calif.) JC Calif.
24 1429 St. Louis Cardinals Justin Wright LHP Virginia Tech Va.
25 1430 Colorado Rockies Landon Appling OF El Campo (Texas) HS Texas
26 1431 Philadelphia Phillies Ethan Stewart LHP New Mexico JC N.M.
Canadian lefthander Ethan Stewart has a projectable body at 6-foot-6 with a clean arm action. Early in the year he worked at 81-83 mph, but he was up to 87-89 later in the year and has been clocked as high as 91 mph. He also has experience pitching against international competition as a member of Canada's junior national team. As a freshman, Stewart could be a tough sign.
27 1432 Los Angeles Dodgers Cody Martin 1B Chipola (Fla.) JC Fla.
28 1433 Boston Red Sox David Roseboom LHP LaSalle Institute, Troy, N.Y. N.Y.
29 1434 Los Angeles Angels Kenny Hatcher 3B Chandler-Gilbert (Ariz.) JC Ariz.
