Prospect Q&A: Joe Benson

Tom Brunansky might be the ideal mentor for Joe Benson. The 23-year-old Benson rated as the fourth-ranked prospect in the Twins system coming into the season thanks in part to excellent power from the right side, which is exactly what Brunansky provided in 14 big-league seasons, including seven in a Minnesota uniform. The former outfielder is now Benson's hitting coach in Double-A New Britain, where the youngster got off to a torrid start. One year after banging out 27 home runs, Benson is hitting .272/.362/.456 over his first 30 games.
