Matt Clark mashed 25 home runs while batting .238/.328/.457 in 132 games in Japan’s Central League last year. The 27-year-old hit as many 28 bombs with Double-A San Antonio in the Padres system in 2010. Members of the Mets front office, including general manager Sandy Alderson and VP of scouting and player development Paul DePodesta, previously worked for the Padres, the club that drafted Clark out of Louisiana State in the 12th round in 2008.

The Giants originally signed center fielder Tyler Graham as a 19th-round pick out of Oregon State in 2006. He played exclusively in independent ball in 2013, hitting .296/.342/.339 with 31 steals in 65 games for two American Association clubs.

Though not reflected here, the Rangers actually signed Che-Hsuan Lin as a righthanded pitcher, according to a press release. Known for his outstanding throwing arm when he played the outfield, Lin made two relief appearances for Triple-A Oklahoma City last year in the Astros system. The 25-year-old appeared in nine big league games for the Red Sox in 2012.
