angels-900x635HE'S WHERE?: Lefthander Nick Maronde made his major league debut last year as a reliever, but instead of keeping him in the big league bullpen or putting him in Triple-A Salt Lake, the Angels assigned him to Double-A Arkansas, where it looks like his future is in the bullpen.

WHO'S MISSING: They're too green to be on a full-season club yet, but keep an eye on righthanders Alfonso Alcantara and Eduar Lopez. Alcantara's fastball sits in the mid-90s and Lopez has an excellent curveball, but they will both stay back in extended spring training after spending last year in the Dominican Summer League. Mike Clevinger is still recovering from Tommy John surgery he had late last year.

GO SEE: Most of the best prospects in the system are in Arkansas. Third baseman Kaleb Cowart (No. 1 prospect), Maronde (No. 2), first baseman C.J. Cron (No. 3), outfielder Randal Grichuk (No. 6) and infielder Taylor Lindsey (No. 7) will all start with the Travelers. Righthanders Ryan Chaffee and Chris Tillman and outfielder Travis Witherspoon will join them in the Texas League.
