Guerrero Makes First Appearance Since Dodgers Signing

After much back-and-forth between both parties, the Dodgers finally got their man last month when they signed Cuban infielder Alexander Guerrero to a four-year, $28 million deal that included a $10 million signing bonus. Now with the Gigantes del Cibao of the Dominican Winter League, Guerrero went 2 for 5 last night with a double and two RBIs against the Tigres del Licey.

Guerrero singled in his first at-bat, and collected a a two-run double in his second trip. He grounded to third twice and also struck out later in the game.

That double came off a fellow with whom Guerrero is surely familiar, Yunesky Maya, a fellow Cuban and a former member of Serie Nacional and the Cuban National Team. Also in the lineup with Guerrero were prospects Leury Garcia (White Sox), Maikel Franco (Phillies) and Marcell Ozuna (Marlins).
