As all-star rosters are announced, we'll provide full details and a look at which prospects are most worthy of your attention.

South Atlantic League All-Star Game

When: June 20.

Where: Spirit Communications Park, Columbia, S.C.

Prospects To Watch:

Alec Hansen, rhp, Kannapolis (White Sox): The big righthander has command issues at times, but has been on fire of late. Over his last three starts, Hansen has whiffed 32 in 18 innings, including starts with 10 and 15 punchouts. When everything clicks, Hansen, who entered his draft year the potential to go in the first round, has some of the best stuff in the White Sox’s system.

JoJo Romero, lhp, Lakewood (Phillies): It’s hard to deny the numbers he’s put up in his first full pro season after the Phillies popped him in the fourth round last year out of Yavapai (Ariz.) JC. Romero, whose heavy fastball has touched 95 mph this year, sports a 3-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio and hasn’t allowed more than two runs in any start this year.

Jordan Humphreys, rhp, Columbia (Mets): The game’s likely starter, Humphreys is looking like an excellent late find in the 18th round of the 2015 draft. In 57.2 innings this year, the Floridian has allowed just 31 hits (one homer) and has fanned a league-best 73 hitters against just seven walks. He and fellow all-star Merandy Gonzalez are among the reasons why the Columbia staff has the league’s second-best ERA at 3.23.

Cristian Pache, of, Rome (Braves): He’s gotten overshadowed in the Braves’ system by the runaway comet of a prospect that is Ronald Acuna and on his own team by righthander Ian Anderson and lefty Joey Wentz, but Pache is more than holding his own as an 18-year-old in the South Atlantic League. He’s slashing .286/.344/.425 with four doubles, five triples and 14 stolen bases. His manager, Randy Ingle, said: “He’s got all the tools. Plus arm, plus speed, plus defender and he swings the bat pretty good, too.”

Blake Rutherford, of, Charleston (Yankees): Nicknamed “The Barrel” in spring training, last year’s first-rounder has put up a solid start in first full season as a pro. He’s slashing .280/.355/.394 with a home run, 18 RBIs and nine stolen bases. Rutherford stood out for his polish last year at Rookie-level Pulaski, and he’s continuing to shine with Charleston.
