In Baseball America's new Midseason Prospect Update, righthanded pitcher Taijuan Walker stays at No. 1 for the Mariners. Walker had to deal with recovering from a shoulder injury to start the season, but once he got back to the mound he struggled a bit in Triple-A Tacoma. In 45.2 innings Walker was good for a 4.14 ERA and 5.94 FIP while striking out 7.49 batters per nine and walking 3.15 per nine.

Even with the performance, Walker earned a call-up to the bigs on June 30, where he got his first major league win after holding the Astros to three runs over six innings. Still, the walks are a bit concerning for Walker, and in his brief stint in the majors so far (15 innings) he’s walked 13 batters.
