In Baseball America's new Midseason Prospect Update, righthanded pitcher Robert Stephenson hangs onto the No. 1 spot for the Cincinnati Reds after being named the top prospect of the organization before the season. Stephenson has played with Double-A Pensacola for the entire season so far, racking up 98.1 innings and a 3.84 ERA. He’s done a nice job getting strikeouts (8.60 K/9) and keeping down opposing batting averages (.205 BAA), but he’s going to have to continue working on the control.

Stephenson has walked 49 batters so far this season, good for a 4.48 BB/9. Those walks could even offset the high strikeout numbers as he’s looking at a low 1.92 K/BB ratio.
