Bat To The Max

The Rangers are relatively certain Max Ramirez can hit major league pitching. Now they are going to find out if he can catch it. Ramirez, 23, was called to the majors from Double-A Frisco after starting catcher Gerald Laird went out with a severe strain of his right hamstring. Ramirez will serve as the backup to Jarrod Saltalamacchia.
