Alvarez Opens Eyes In Blue Jays System

Henderson Alvarez leaped into prominence this season as a prospect to watch. After going 2-6, 5.63, combined in his first two seasons at the Rookie level—the Dominican Summer League and the Gulf Coast League—the righthander was brilliant at low Class A Lansing of the Midwest League in 2009 by going 9-6, 3.47 in 23 starts.
