A Catch At First

The Astros had already selected Jason Castro with their first-round pick earlier in the draft and had several intriguing upper-level catching prospects in the system, including Lou Santangelo and J.R. Towles. But they couldn't pass up catcher Phil Disher, who had hit more than .300 with 34 homers in his final two seasons at South Carolina, when he was available in the 15th round.
