Dodgers Agree To Sign Lucas Tirado For $1 Million

The Dodgers have agreed to sign Dominican shortstop Lucas Tirado for $1 million, according to the Dominican Prospect League.

Tirado, 16, is 6-foot-2, 180 pounds and shows a short lefthanded swing in batting practice. Tirado played in the Under Armour All-America game last year in August at Wrigley Field. His game performance has been uneven, although he’s shown some ability to work the count. The rest of his tool set is modest, with below-average speed that will likely precipitate a move to another position. Tirado trains with Jaime Ramos and has played in both the DPL and the International Prospect League.
