High School Top 25: June 23

The preseason No. 1 team, Bishop Gorman High of Las Vegas, claimed the top spot in the final poll after seeing Moody High (Corpus Christi, Texas) fall in the 4-A state championship to Texarkana’s Texas High. Bishop Gorman was previously No. 2 in the country after winning its fourth straight Nevada 4-A title. Moody fell to No. 9 while Texas High entered the rankings at No. 25.

Walsh Jesuit High of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and St. Rita High of Chicago both fell out of the top 25 to Nos. 41 and 45 respectively. Both teams lost in the state finals. Also entering the top 25 is Socorro High of El Paso, Texas. Socorro claimed the 5-A title.

The staffs of Baseball America and the NHSBCA
compile the Top 25 rankings. This is the final poll of the 2009 season and has expanded to 50 teams.
