Not even a major injury to college baseball's best hitter could change the status quo at the top of the draft. Two months before the draft, the four best prospects remained the same as they were at the start of the season: Vanderbilt third baseman Pedro Alvarez, San Diego lefthander Brian Matusz, Missouri righthander Aaron Crow and Griffin (Ga.) High shortstop Tim Beckham.
