Game At A Glance: UC Irvine 8, Arizona State 7

Turning Point: Dillon Bell’s pinch-hit walk to lead off the eighth inning provided UC Irvine with a spark, even down four runs against flame-throwing Arizona State closer Jason Jarvis. Zach Robinson followed with another pinch-hit walk, and the Anteaters turned it into a game-tying four-run rally.

The Hero: Ollie Linton’s game-winning single was huge, but Matt Morris delivered the game-tying two-run double in the eighth, then got the 10th-inning rally started with a one-out single and a stolen base. He scored the winning run on Linton’s single.

You May Not Have Noticed: When Scott Gorgen hit ASU’s Rocky Laguna with a pitch in the 10th inning, it was the 37th hit batsman of the CWS, the most ever. And we’re just 10 games in.
