The final game of the 2007 regionals is underway in Charlottesville, and the tired pitching is evident. Oregon State leads Virginia 5-3 after just two innings of play. OSU has opted to bring righthander Mike Stutes back after he pitched 6 1/3 innings against the Cavaliers on Saturday, and UVa. is going with lefthander Casey Lambert, who pitched 6 2/3 innings of relief in that same 13-inning game. Virginia won that game, but it proved a very costly victory, as Brandon Marsh and Brandon Guyer were both lost for the remainder of the postseason, in all likelihood. Marsh (.294/.392/.403, 3 HR, 44 RBI) suffered a fractured wrist, and Guyer (.370/.440/.559, 8 HR, 59 RBI) dislocated his shoulder.
