Baseball America's Top 10 Prospects lists are based on projections of a player's long-term worth after discussions with scouting and player-development personnel. All players who haven't exceeded the major league rookie standards of 130 at-bats or 50 innings pitched (without regard to service time) are eligible. Ages are as of April 1, 2011.

There's never a time when a Top 10 Prospect list isn't changing. As soon as we send the Prospect Handbook to the printers, teams will start making trades that force up to tear up those rankings. Just two weeks ago, Yu Darvish's signing with the Rangers came on the day we sent the magazine containing Texas' Top 10 to the printers. A day later and Jurickson Profar would have been No. 1. Instead, Darvish ascended to the head of the Rangers' class.

But as we've wrapped up our final Top 10 Prospects list of the offseason, we felt it was the perfect time to bring up to date all of our Top 10s. So here's how they would stand on the final day of January, 2012. For historical purposes, the Handbook and the Top 10s on the date they were posted are the "official" Top 10s. The 2012 Top 10 Prospects page will continue to serve as the link to the Top 10s as we posted them, but these are as up-to-date as we could make them.

Surely by the middle of February, a trade or two will have shuffled players around again—the list is always changing.
