Wilson Delgado Suspended For Banned
Substances

Wilson Delgado, with more than 250 games of major league experience, is
the
latest player suspended by the commissioner’s office for
violation of the minor
league drug prevention and treatment program. It’s
the second time
this season Delgado has been suspended, with this punishment lasting 30
games.
He was docked 15 games in May for the same offense. Delgado,
33, has
spent parts of nine seasons in the majors and was playing this year at
Triple-A
Albuquerque. A shortstop most of his career, he was the
Isotopes’ everyday
second baseman and was hitting .285-6-37. He’s a career .251
hitter in 542
major league at-bats. |
