USA Baseball's indy league team in the 35th World Cup was idle Monday, while four games were played. In group A, Italy beat Russia 9-1 while Canada beat Nicaragua 4-2. Former Dodgers farmhand Phil Devey went seven innings for Canada, while ex-big leaguers Rich and Rob Butler combined for five of Canada's 11 hits. In group B, China defeated France 6-5 while Panama beat Brazil 11-6.
