USA World Cup Team Idle Monday, Prepares For Brazil

USA Baseball USA Baseball's indy league team in the 35th World Cup was idle Monday, while four games were played. In group A, Italy beat Russia 9-1 while Canada beat Nicaragua 4-2. Former Dodgers farmhand Phil Devey went seven innings for Canada, while ex-big leaguers Rich and Rob Butler combined for five of Canada's 11 hits. In group B, China defeated France 6-5 while Panama beat Brazil 11-6.

The entire World Cup field is in action Tuesday; Team USA faces Brazil in the last game of the day.
