Mondesi, whose father Raul Sr. spent 13 years in the big leagues, is a marginal prospect who hasn't shown much with the bat since signing. He's a .243/.305/.371 hitter over his three minor league seasons, and he led the Pioneer League with 87 strikeouts in 2012. Raul Jr.'s brother Adalberto is a promising shortstop prospect in the Royals organization. |
