Warming Up May. 11, 2008 Jovanny Rosario, the speedster who batted .331/.376/.452 and stole 22 bases with Rookie-level Ogden last summer, began this season with a 14-game hitting streak at low Class A Great Lakes, batting .316 during that stretch. Rosario, 22, who was converted from a second baseman to a center fielder a few years ago, spent his first three professional seasons in the Dodgers' Dominican program before playing in the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League in 2006. Dodgers Organization Report Feb. 29, 2008 Righthander Bryan Morris got off to a rocky start in his professional career when he had Tommy John surgery in October 2006, just four months after the Dodgers drafted him with their second first-round pick and after just 14 starts at Rookie-level Ogden. A year and a half later, though, Morris believes he is ready to come back full speed—even if some club officials aren't so sure. [...] Continue Reading »
Dodgers Organization Report Jan. 25, 2008 The Dodgers brought 16 prospects, deemed by club officials close to reaching the majors, to Los Angeles in early January for a winter development program. The purpose of the event was to give those players some sense of familiarity to help them make a more comfortable transition to the big leagues when they eventually get called up.
