High School Top 50



DURHAM, N.C.--For the fourth time in as many polls, the Baseball America/National High School Baseball Coaches Association Top 50 features a new No. 1 team. The Woodlands (Texas) High took over the top spot in the latest poll on the strength of a 12-game winning streak, including three straight shutouts.

No. 2 Monsignor Pace High (Opa Locka, Fla.), No. 3 Agoura (Calif.) High and unranked Russell County High of Seale, Ala., have each spent two weeks atop the poll thus far this season.

No. 4 Fallbrook (Calif.) High, fifth-ranked Jackson High (Mill Creek, Wash.), No. 6 Cypress (Calif.) High and No. 7 Nova High (Davie, Fla.) all moved up in the latest poll, which expanded to 50 teams to accommodate for the season opening for many of the nation's teams in the Northern U.S.

The staff of Baseball America and the National High School Baseball Coaches Association compiles the Top 50 rankings. In-season polls are conducted every other week, with the final poll released June 12. Records indicated as of April 1 and do not include ties.
