2006 High School Top 25

DURHAM, N.C.-Monsignor Pace High (Opa Locka, Fla.) took over the top spot in the Baseball America/National High School Baseball Coaches Association Top 25 poll. The Spartans won each of their first seven games and moved ahead of previous No. 1 Russell County High (Seale, Ala.), which fell to No. 17 after losing two of its first five games. No. 2 El Camino Real High (Woodland Hills, Calif.) and No. 3 Agoura (Calif.) High each moved up one spot from the preseason poll. No. 4 Florida Christian High (Miami), No. 5 The Woodlands (Texas) High and No. 6 Flanagan High (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) were also off to undefeated starts and each jumped two spots in the poll. No. 7 Chaparral High (Scottsdale, Ariz.) fell two spots following a 3-2 loss to No. 25 Chandler (Ariz.) High. No. 8 Jesuit High (New Orleans) climbed six spots, while No. 9 Cypress (Calif) High and 10th-ranked Jackson High (Mill Creek, Wash.) were stagnant. The staff of Baseball America and the National High School Baseball Coaches Association determine the Top 25 rankings. In-season polls are conducted every other week, with the final poll released June 12. Records indicated as of March 4 and do not include ties.
