High School Top 25: May 25
Staff Report
May 25, 2010
Since the last Baseball America/National High School Baseball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll, Florida, Nevada and Arizona have crowned state champions. Florida has two more teams to crown, but of the four that have won their classification, three made the latest Top 25. The Nevada 4-A title was won by Las Vegas' Bishop Gorman High for the fifth straight year and Mesa, Ariz.'s Desert Ridge entered the rankings after claiming the 5-A-I title.
Bellaire (Texas) High was upset in the playoffs again and dropped from the rankings. Canyon Del Oro High (Oro Valley, Ariz.), Parview High (Lilburn, Ga.), Owasso (Okla.) High and Rio Rancho (N.M.) High all saw their bids for a state title come up short and dropped out of the Top 25.
The staffs of Baseball America and the NHSBCA compile the Top 25
rankings. In-season polls will be conducted every two weeks and released
every other Tuesday throughout the season. Records indicated are as of
May 23 and do not include ties.
