After nine weeks at No. 1, Vanderbilt was knocked out of the Nashville regional by Michigan and dropped four spots to No. 5. Michigan jumped back into the rankings at No. 15, while preseason No. 1 Rice regained the top spot.

San Diego fell the farthest after being eliminated in two games. The Toreros fell 10 spots to No. 14. Seven teams entered the rankings this week. Michigan, Oregon State, Mississippi State, UCLA, Oklahoma State, Louisville and Cal State Fullerton all won their regionals and joined the Top 25

Of previously ranked teams, Mississippi and Clemson made the most significant jumps from last week. The Rebels leapt 12 spots to No. 13, and the Tigers climbed 11 places to No. 9.
