North Carolina, which had held the top spot for a month, fell six spots to No. 7 after dropping a home series against Virginia. The Cavaliers moved up two places to No. 5.
There was little movement in the rest of the rankings. Auburn is the only team to fall out of the Top 25 after being swept at Georgia. UC Irvine, riding a seven-game winning streak, makes its first appearance in the rankings at No. 24.
