College Top 25: Feb. 18

DURHAM, N.C—North Carolina remained atop Baseball America's Top 25 rankings after a sweep of its snow-shortened opening weekend series against Seton Hall. North Carolina pitchers allowed two runs in the two games.

The top of the rankings remained stable, as the top seven teams kept the spots they had in the preseason. Mississippi was the lone team to jump into the Top 10, as the Rebels climbed five spots to No. 8 with a three-game sweep of Texas Christian. TCU fell eight spots to No. 22.

No. 13 Rice was the other team to climb significantly in this week's rankings. The Owls won their series against Stanford two games to one, as Rice pitchers held Stanford to four runs in three games. The Cardinal fell six spots to No. 15.

Two teams fell out of the rankings: New Mexico, formerly No. 21, went 1-2 against Oklahoma State, while San Diego, previously No. 25, was swept by San Diego State. No. 24 Virginia Tech and No. 25 UC Irvine joined the rankings this week after perfect opening weekends. Virginia Tech won two games each against UNC Wilmington and Kent State, while UC Irvine swept Baylor.
