The Tigers won their second straight road series against a talented SEC contender and have won 11 straight SEC series. So. RHP Anthony Ranaudo (6.1 IP, 8 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 6 K) was solid in a no-decision Friday, and Jr. OF Jared Mitchell's two-run double highlighted a four-run ninth in LSU's comeback win. Jr. DH Blake Dean (5-for-8, 9 RBI, 2 HR, 2B) keyed the offense the next two days, and Sr. RHP Louis Coleman (6 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 4 BB, 6 K) improved to 8-1, 2.38 on Sunday. LSU pitchers have 368 strikeouts in 307 innings.

Rice earned a huge road series win at East Carolina, even with ace Ryan Berry sidelined for the third straight week. Jr. RHP Mike Ojala (5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 10 K) did come storming back from arm soreness in Sunday's win, but Sr. RHP Jared Rogers (1.1 IP, 7 H, 7 R, 6 ER) was shelled in Friday's slugfest. Jr. 2B Brock Holt (5-for-9, 5 RBI, HR) led the offense in the two wins, but Rice mustered just three hits Saturday behind Fr. LHP Taylor Wall (7 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 9 K).

3. UC IRVINE

The Anteaters swept Long Beach State and now lead the Big West by three full games over the four teams tied for second place. Irvine's bullpen did much of the heavy lifting, holding LBSU to five hits over 11 scoreless innings. Irvine also got solid starts from Jr. LHP Daniel Bibona (7 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 5 K), Jr. RHP Christian Bergman (6 IP, 8 H, 3 ER) and So. RHP Crosby Slaught (6 IP, 6 H, 5 ER). Sr. RHP Ben Orloff (3-for-4, 2 R) became UCI's all-time leading run-scorer in Saturday's win.

After being swept in a midweek series at Arkansas, the Sun Devils rebounded by winning two of three against Washington State to remain atop the Pac-10 standings. Jr. C Carlos Ramirez (4-for-5, 3 R, 4 RBI, HR) led a 13-hit attack Friday in support of Jr. RHP Mike Leake (9 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 12 K). So. OF Matt Newman (5-for-5, 5 RBI, 2B, HR) was the offensive catalyst Saturday behind Jr. LHP Josh Spence (8 IP, 7 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 10 K).

5. NORTH CAROLINA

UNC fell to 3-15 at Florida State in the Mike Fox era; the Tar Heels have not won a series at Dick Howser Stadium since 1995. Jr. RHP Alex White (8.1 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 9 K) cruised Friday until allowing a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth to lose. Six Tar Heels recorded multi-hit outings Saturday in support of Sr. RHP Adam Warren (6.1 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 5 BB, 6 K). So. RHP Patrick Johnson (4.2 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 6 K) made the start in a predetermined staff day Sunday, as normal Sunday starter Matt Harvey (1 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 1 K) came out of the bullpen for the second straight day and struggled with his control. Despite Jr. 3B Kyle Seager's first career grand slam, UNC blew a five-run lead by issuing 13 walks, its most in a game since 2002.

6. CAL STATE FULLERTON

The Titans had to work for a series win at Cal State Northridge, but they dropped another game behind UC Irvine in the Big West standings and are now tied with three other teams for second place, three games behind the 'Eaters. Fullerton made the bus trip to Northridge with heavy hearts Thursday, as former Titan Jon Wilhite was in critical condition after the hit-and-run accident that killed Nick Adenhart, and the game was suspended due to darkness in the 13th inning. Northridge won in the 15th when play resumed, but the Titans rebounded to win the final two games of the series behind Fr. RHPs Noe Ramirez (7.1 IP, 5 ER) and Tyler Pill (9 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 8 K). Pill took a no-hitter into the seventh Saturday.

Baylor won its first series against Missouri since 2004 and first at home since 2001. Jr. 1B Dustin Dickerson (12-for-20, 8 R, 3 RBI, 3 2B, HR) led the offense on the week, extending his hitting streak to a career-long 19 games, longest in the Big 12 this season. He's hitting .379. Jr. RHP Kendal Volz (7 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 8 K) was outdueled Friday by Missouri ace Kyle Gibson (9 IP, 9 H, 3 ER, 0 BB, 6 K), his former roommate with Team USA last summer. Jr. LHP/OF Aaron Miller (8 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 10 K) was brilliant in relief in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, and Jr. RHP Willie Kempf (7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 12 K) threw his first career shutout in a laugher in the nightcap.

After Friday's game was pushed back a day by rain, all three Georgia weekend starters pitched into the sixth inning, with Game Two starter Jr. LHP Alex McRee (5.1 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 5 BB, 3 K) having the best outing. Jr. C Joey Lewis broke a 4-4 tie Sunday with a solo homer in the ninth.

The Longhorns won their second straight conference road series and have won 10 of their last 12 games. Neither So. RHP Chance Ruffin (4.1 IP, 4 R, 1 ER) nor So. RHP Brandon Workman (3.2 IP, 5 R, 2 ER) made it through five innings, but So. RHP Cole Green (9 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 5 K) turned in his first career complete game Sunday. The Longhorns exploded for 28 hits over the final two games of the series, led by five from Jr. 1B Brandon Belt.

10. OKLAHOMA

Oklahoma has won all four of its Big 12 weekend series but has yet to sweep one. Jr. RHP Andrew Doyle (8 IP, 6 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 4 K) earned the win Friday and has lasted at least 5 2/3 innings in all eight of his starts this year. Jr. RHP Stephen Porlier (5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K) moved into the rotation and dominated in the opener of Saturday's doubleheader, helping Oklahoma record its third straight shutout, the first time since 1985 the Sooners have thrown shutouts in three straight games. It was the first start since May 25, 2007 for Porlier, who missed last season after having shoulder surgery.

The Hogs had a letdown after sweeping a midweek series against Arizona State. They dropped a pair of games against Vandy by a combined 16 runs before Sunday's finale was washed out. Arkansas mustered just four hits Friday against Vandy ace Mike Minor, and Jr. LHP Dallas Keuchel (3.1 IP, 10 H, 7 ER) took his first loss of the year. Arkansas made four errors Saturday, and Jr. RHP T.J. Forrest (4.1 IP, 5 ER) failed to get through five innings for the second straight week.

The Yellow Jackets split a pair of one-run games against Virginia before a travel curfew caused Sunday's finale to end in a tie. So. RHP Deck McGuire (7 IP, 6 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 7 K) was solid in a no-decision Friday, and Jr. 1B Tony Plagman hit a walk-off RBI single in the ninth. Sr. OF Luke Murton homered twice and drove in four in Saturday's slugfest, his fourth multi-homer performance in his last 10 games. Plagman had two more hits and drove in three Sunday in support of So. RHP Brandon Cumpton (7 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 9 K), who moved back into the rotation after a two-week absence.

The Hurricanes mustered just two hits Saturday against Clemson Fr. LHP Chris Dwyer. So. LHP Iden Nazario (2.2 IP, 6 H, 6 ER) was took his first career loss Sunday.

Jr. C Ryan Ortiz had four of OSU's 13 hits Thursday in support of Jr. RHP Tyler Waldron (6 IP, 11 H, 5 R, 4 ER). Ortiz recorded two hits each of the next two days, and the Beavers got another strong start Sunday from Jr. RHP Jorge Reyes (7.2 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 5 K), who improved to 5-1, 3.43 overall.

The Aztecs have won both of their conference road series this year and are tied with New Mexico atop the MWC standings. Jr. C Erik Castro (2-for-5, 5 RBI, HR) led a 15-hit attack Thursday in support of Jr. RHP Stephen Strasburg (6 IP, 7 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 13 K), who improved to 7-0, 1.49 with a 107-11 K-BB ratio in 54 innings. Castro, an Arizona transfer, is leading the team in batting at .384/.511/.661 with a team-best seven homers and 34 RBIs. The Aztecs scored three times in the eighth to earn a comeback win Friday.

After falling to 0-4 against the Big 12 in Tuesday's loss to Texas, the Horned Frogs rebounded with a dominating sweep of Texas-Pan American. Four TCU pitchers combined to throw the third nine-inning no-hitter in school history Friday. Four more TCU pitchers carried a no-hitter into the ninth in Saturday's blowout. Thirteen Horned Frogs got into the hit column in that one.

LHP Drew Pomeranz (1.2 IP, 7 H, 9 R, 4 ER) continued Friday, and Ole Miss couldn't come back from a 9-4 deficit after two innings. So. 1B Matt Smith went 3-for-4 Sunday in support of Sr. RHP Scott Bittle (6 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 K).

Poly mashed a season-high four homers Thursday and broke open a close game Saturday with seven runs in the eighth. Pacific came from behind with three in the ninth Friday, the first time this year Poly lost a game which it led after eight innings.

Morris (6.2 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 9 K) became the nation's first nine-game winner in the second game of Friday's doubleheader, tying the school's single-season wins record. He has a 1.19 ERA and 64 strikeouts in 61 innings this season. The Wildcats came from behind with two in the ninth to win Saturday's series finale, tying it on a pinch-hit RBI single by Fr. OF Mike Kindel and winning on So. 2B Carter Jurica's sacrifice fly.

LHP Ryan Carpenter (3 IP, 5 ER, 5 BB) was erratic in Friday's loss, but Jr. RHP Steven Ames (9 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 10 K) dominated in Saturday's series clincher.

The Pirates faced a major test last week, playing four of their fives games against top-five opponents, and they won just one of the five. Jr. OF Devin Harris homered twice in Friday's slugfest, and So. RHP Seth Maness (9 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 8 K) provided another bright spot Saturday, shutting down the potent Owls offense in a complete-game win. Sr. 1B Brandon Henderson returned from an ankle injury and had three hits Friday, then three more in Sunday's loss.

Walz (6.2 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 10 K). So. 3B Tony Thompson's RBI single capped KU's two-run 10th Sunday. Kansas improved to 18-2 at home this year.

Sr. RHP Tom Buske (8 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 K) dominated in Saturday's win, and the Gophers rallied from behind again Sunday, scoring three times in the seventh on Fr. 1B Nick O'Shea's three-run homer.
