DURHAM, N.C.--Less than a week after dismissing top freshmen Lonnie Chisenhall and Nick Fuller, South Carolina won a road series against Mississippi State and ascended to the top spot in the Baseball America Top 25 rankings. Next up for the Gamecocks in the Southeastern Conference is a three-game set with Vanderbilt, which fell from No. 1 to No. 3 following a series loss to Arkansas.

Arkansas moved up two spots to No. 7 following its second consecutive series victory over a ranked SEC opponent.

For just the second time this season, no teams left or entered the poll. Southern California, which lost its weekend series against No. 16 Arizona State, fell from No. 19 to No. 25.

The staff of Baseball America determines the Top 25 rankings. Records indicated are through games of March 25 and do not include ties.
