Losing to two teams outside of the Top 25 and No. 4 Vanderbilt in the
Houston College Classic, Rice falls from No. 1 to No. 7. Taking over at
No. 1 is Clemson, which will kick off the final college baseball season
without a uniform start date on Friday against George
Mason.
Texas also took a tumble, moving from No. 7 to No. 14, as Long Beach State won two of three against the Longhorns at home.
Decisively sweeping UNC Ashville, Florida State jumps from No. 14 to No. 9. With a record of 6-0, the Seminoles have the second-most wins of any team in the Top 25. They trail the 2006 College World Series Champion Oregon State Beavers, a team that has opened the season 7-0. With its sweep over Georgia, Oregon State moves up to No. 10.
Arizona State continues its rise, moving from No. 16 to No. 13 after knocking off Texas A&M and Houston, while playing a very close contest against Vanderbilt.
