Game At A Glance: North Carolina 7, Rice 4
June 21, 2007
Turning Point: Tim Fedroff's two-run homer in the second inning gave North Carolina a 3-2 lead it would not relinquish.
The Hero: As good as starter Adam Warren pitched, give credit to rock-solid closer Andrew Carignan, who entered with runners on second and third and two outs in the seventh, with the Tar Heels clinging to a 7-4 lead. Carignan struck out All-American Joe Savery looking on a fastball away, and he did not allow a hit over the next two innings.
You Might Not Have Noticed: North Carolina's four-homer game ended a significant power outage, but the Tar Heels actually tied for the ACC home run lead during the regular season. But their last four-homer game came April 29 against North Carolina State.
