: North Carolina set a record for the most pitchers used in a CWS game. UNC tied the record in the seventh inning, a mark reached eight times previously. Then catcher Tim Federowicz went from catcher to the mound in the ninth to become the record eighth pitcher used. It's also the second-straight season a player has played catcher and pitcher in the same game, with Federowicz following Matt Wieters' 2006 performance for Georgia Tech.
