Nov. 10--Nov. 17 marks the early signing period for NCAA national letters of intent. Baseball America and Perfect Game have compiled the Top 100 high school players and their commitments. A Top 500 list with commitments and scouting reports for a majority of the players can be found as part of our Prospects Plus Service
A good portion of these players will never play a game for their schools, instead opting to sign professional contracts. But it's still fun to think what might be.
Arizona State secured commitments from four of the top 50 prospects, led by first baseman/lefty Ike Davis (No. 12). Vanderbilt just missed landing another impact-potential prospect in two-way star Zach Putnam (No.3) who elected to stay at home in Ann Arbor by choosing Michigan.
Louisiana State and Miami also factor prevalently in the mix, having secured commitments from three of the top 50 high school prospects.
