Nearly $12 million worth of talent said, "Thanks, but no thanks" to Arizona State this summer. The Sun Devils' heralded signing class lost three first-round picks (Eric Hosmer, Kyle Skipworth and Brett Lawrie), a supplemental first-rounder (Jaff Decker), a second-rounder (Brad Hand) and two late-round draftees who signed for significant bonuses (Jarek Cunningham and Alex Curry). But for all that, no class in the nation can match Arizona State's for sheer quantity of impact talent.

Georgia, Arizona State Win Big While Others Go Small

Many recruiting coordinators expressed bewilderment that a few schools were still able to sign 20 or more recruits in the age of academic reform in college baseball, but there are mitigating factors that can make it wise to cast a wide net. Georgia and Arizona State both figure to have plenty of holes to fill, and both inked plenty of high-profile targets that could wind up signing pro contracts.

2007 Transfer Tracker

Here's a list of the Division I players who have decided to transfer to another Division I school this summer. Starting next summer, players who transfer from one D-I to another will be required to sit out a year before becoming eligible at their new school. Players will still be able to transfer freely after this fall semester provided they are enrolled at their new school by the start of the spring semester in January. This chart will be updated as more transfers are announced.
