Righthander Bryan Morris got off to a rocky start in his professional career when he had Tommy John surgery in October 2006, just four months after the Dodgers drafted him with their second first-round pick and after just 14 starts at Rookie-level Ogden. A year and a half later, though, Morris believes he is ready to come back full speed—even if some club officials aren't so sure.

Lefthander Rowdy Hardy was overlooked in the draft out of Austin Peay and signed with the Royals in 2006. He was named the organization's minor league pitcher of the year last season after going 15-5, 2.48 with high Class A Wilmington. He earned the same award in the Carolina League after leading the circuit in wins and innings (167) and finishing second in ERA.
