Elected free agents gained their freedom after refusing outright assignments to the minors, while Declared free agents earned that distinction from Major League Baseball on Nov. 2. Latin American winter league assignments are listed for participating free agents—DL (Dominican), MPL (Mexican Pacific), PRL (Puerto Rican) and VL (Venezuelan). A handful of players have spent time in the Australian Baseball League (ABL), now in its second year.

Any player listed with an asterisk (*) signed a major league contract and joined the 40-man roster.
