Rohrbach had almost no pitching experience at JC of the Canyons before arriving in Long Beach--he threw just four innings last year, but has seized the Dirtbags' No. 1 starter role as a redshirt sophomore this spring, going 6-2, 2.13 in 101 regular-season innings. A Tommy John surgery survivor, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound Rohrbach has caught scouts' attention by running his fastball up to 94-95, though he pitches at 89-92. He flashes an average changeup, but his breaking ball needs a lot of work. It's a soft slurve that lacks power and finish, serving mostly as a get-me-over pitch at this stage. Rohrbach's control is better than his command, but his mechanics have come a long way in a short period of time, and he's an outstanding athlete, suggesting he has aptitude to make adjustments as he progresses through pro ball. He also impressed scouts with his competitiveness and mastery of his emotions on the mound.
