Steele was drafted as an eligible sophomore in 2013 but not until the 40th round thanks to a six-figure price tag. He also was drafted in 2012 after helping Iowa Western CC to the national championship as a multi-positional hitter and reliever. The MVP of the 2012 NJCAA World Series, Steele struggled along with the rest of the Missouri's 2014 team, going 0-8, 3.07 as the team's closer, though he did rack up nine saves and completed two of his three starts. Steele has pro-caliber arm strength, sitting 89-93 mph with a fastball that can touch 95. His slider can reach 84-85 mph and at times has late tilt. A first-team all-Southeastern Conference player in 2013 as a utility player, he's already 22, having redshirted in 2011 after shoulder surgery to repair damage to both his labrum and rotator cuff.
