Sherrod has long had a good arm, as he was found by scouts as a high school senior who could touch 95-96 mph. Sherrod’s baseball took off after he got better hearing aids to help him with his hearing impariment. Sherrod has varied his arm slot. He can sink it more when he’s using a low three-quarter release point, but his velo tails off. When he throws from a higher arm slot, he still touches 94-97 mph. Sherrod is still far from a polished product and his curveball needs more refinement, but his arm is worth taking a chance on.

Sherrod didn't get noticed as a high school pitcher until his senior year, when scouts discovered him touching 95-96 mph at Dallas' W.T. White HS. Sherrod is hearing impaired and his baseball career didn't really take off until he got better hearing aids in high school. He's still somewhat raw on the mound, but he's made massive strides since he arrived at Texas A&M. He threw three innings as a freshman because of his wildness, but he's blossomed into a key reliever for the Aggies as a junior. Sherrod sits 92-95 mph and can touch 98 with a plus fastball that has excellent sink. He can flash an above-average curveball and changeup. His coaching staff raves about Sherrod's makeup, as he is a hard worker who never seems to be flustered. Sherrod still has very few innings on his arm and has just started to figure out his delivery so his best work may still be years away.
